About the role
This position's primary responsibility is the delivery of clinical education in a pre-licensure nursing program at an assigned clinical site. This is a part-time temporary faculty position. Duration of assignment will be based on the Program's needs with the possibility of continuation.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and teach client care in clinical units to nursing students and provide instruction based on the principles of the physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing.
- Promote a learning environment that demonstrates trust, respect, and inclusivity for the students, patients, the public, and members of the healthcare team.
- Serve as the liaison between the clinical agency and the Catherine Wood School of Nursing.
- Participate as a member of the course team in the development and evaluation of activities with the Course Director.
- Provide feedback to the Course Director regarding the clinical setting's effectiveness in supporting student accomplishment of the course and program outcomes.
- Submit student and clinical agency evaluations in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Nursing faculty (Clinical Instructor) shall hold either a baccalaureate in nursing or a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- The faculty must have two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse caring for patients in assigned care setting.
- Provide evidence of a current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
- The candidate must have recent work experience with patients in assigned care setting.
- The preferred candidate will have recent work experience at assigned facility as a clinical instructor.
- Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector is desired.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through oral and written channels.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, patients, members of a healthcare team, and the public.
- Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
