Clinical Informatics - IS Clinical Applications - Full time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

About the role

The Clinical Informaticist serves as an operations/IT liaison, working closely with physicians, nurses, hospital administration, and IT counterparts to assess, scope, build, implement, optimize, and maintain Cerner systems. Responsibilities include system testing, troubleshooting, issue management, training, and go-lives, with a focus on continuous improvement of clinical applications and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with personnel to establish and refine clinical workflows (Provider, Nursing, Front Office, Ancillary staff, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, Medication Administration, and other Orders workflows).
• Drive development of future-state workflows leveraging clinical and application knowledge.
• Educate clinicians on appropriate system use and promote a positive experience of IT solutions.
• Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators for assigned facility.
• Implement and develop assigned clinical applications, including providing 1st-2nd level support to end-users.
• Collaborate with internal resources and vendors to upgrade software or enhancements, including testing new functionalities.
• Monitor project progress by tracking activities, resolving problems, maintaining progress reports, and escalating issues as needed.
• Analyze applications and make recommendations for improvement.
• Analyze problems and errors produced by applications and end-users, working closely with them and vendors to correct issues.
• Support and troubleshoot interfaces for inbound/outbound data.
• Determine operational objectives by analyzing functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
• Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation (e.g., Job Aids), offering help desk support, and training users.
• Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
• Serve on various entity and enterprise-wide IT committees as a representative and liaison.
• Work with leadership to identify Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for project work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
• 2 years of experience in implementation, testing, and ongoing support of clinical applications (required).
• 1 year of Health Care Information Technology (HCIT) consulting work experience (required).
• Cerner experience (highly desired).
• Experience as a Licensed Clinical worker or Health Care worker (a plus).
• Clinical workflow experience (required).
• Self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change initiatives.
• Strong presentation skills for executives and chief clinicians.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) – certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held (required within LA City only).

Pay

The annual rate range for this position is $99,507.00 - $164,559.00.
