Administrative
Assume divisional and departmental administrative responsibility as directed by the Division Chief. Academic consideration time (0.05 FTE).
Teaching
Clinical Teaching (7.5%) - Supervise fellows, residents, and medical students during ambulatory and hospital patient encounters.
Didactic Teaching (7.5%) - Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and conferences for fellows, residents, medical students, and other learners in the Department of Medicine and other departments.
Provide periodic seminars/educational sessions for the division of endocrinology.
Prepare conferences for the Department of Medicine.
Provide lectures and conferences at regional hospitals in Central and Southern Illinois.
Service
Professional Services - Complete inpatient and outpatient consultations requested by full-time SIU clinical faculty, house staff, and community physicians.
Outreach to Pinckneyville Community Hospital District via telehealth.
Develop and maintain professional practice in accordance with departmental policy.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Graduate of accredited medical school program.
- Graduate of formal specialty training program in Endocrinology.
- Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligible for such.
- Diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology or eligible for such.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois or eligible for such certification.
- Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
- Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.
