Clinical Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehabilitation - Part Time - Wyandotte

About the role

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist will support patients in regaining strength, confidence, and long-term health through safe, supervised exercise and lifestyle coaching. They will evaluate patient readiness for exercise, lead clinic-based exercise sessions, conduct exercise stress tests, and communicate with physicians to tailor exercise prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through supervised exercise and individualized treatment plans
• Conduct exercise stress tests and monitor ECGs, symptoms, and vital signs
• Assess contraindications to exercise, obtain consent, and ensure patient safety
• Provide education on exercise, lifestyle change, and disease management
• Communicate progress and concerns to physicians and advanced practice providers
• Offer physical activity counseling and support patient behavior change
• Deliver compassionate care to diverse patient populations, including older adults and those with complex chronic conditions

Requirements

• Educational requirements: Bachelor's or graduate degree in exercise science/physiology or related field.
• Experience: Experience in a clinical exercise setting highly preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the healthcare provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire; American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification is strongly preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
