About the role
Implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients.
Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen.
Monitor patient's response and revise plan accordingly.
Recognize contraindication and abnormal patient responses to exercise.
Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients.
- Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
- Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen.
- Maintain records and report progress to healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient's response and revise plan accordingly.
- Recognize contraindication and abnormal patient responses to exercise.
Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
- Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience in exercise physiology or related field preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and patient care protocols.
