About the role

As a Clinical Coordinator in the Psychiatric Unit, your voice influences patient care through open, collaborative relationships and formal opportunities such as hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care services quality in collaboration with the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create a teamwork environment supporting improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Operationalize nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives to improve engagement.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Recommend and implement courses of action for training, conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current RN Virginia license or a compact multistate license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification (must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
  • One year of experience in a Psychiatric unit.
