Position Responsibilities
- Captures patient flow in the office.
- Works directly with physicians during office hours.
- Ensures continuity of clinical support for all services related to patient care through coordination with physician office staff.
- Traits patient calls and works with physicians to ensure proper handling of all calls.
- Prepares rooms and assists doctors in office procedures.
- Prepares all surgical packets for patients.
- Provides instructions and preparation directions as needed.
- Handles after-hours calls and contacts physicians for proper handling of all calls.
- Maintains regular monitoring of the office for JCAHO compliance, including reviews of sample drug logs, sharps, and completeness of patient records, including Ambulatory Summary Records.
- Safeguards post-operative patients by ensuring they are seen promptly.
- Solves problems and addresses client concerns with confidence and efficiency.
- Maintains par levels of office and medical supplies.
- Completes and submits pharmacy check lists to Pharmacy Administration on a monthly basis.
- Completes and submits Audit Tracers to Physician Administration on a monthly basis.
- Aids staff members with their job duties as needed.
- Performs other department-specific job responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification/LPN from an accredited institution/agency required.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- CPR Certification required.
- Technical or Associate Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in a physician practice setting or healthcare industry experience.
