Clinical Consultant

About the role

Provide clinical design and product support to eye care practitioners (ECPs) to assist in creating an environment in which the customer builds confidence in using MSA products for their patients’ needs. This function will be provided through training services, product education, contact lens consultation, and technical support for CVI MSA products to doctors, fitters, and staff members via phone (75%) or email (25%).

Responsibilities

• Respond directly to clinical and non-clinical consulting questions from eye care practitioners, laboratories, and their related staff.
• Consult on limited products in the MSA portfolio; escalate cases to Senior Consultants or management as needed.
• Evaluate clinical photos, scans, and other data to discuss lens parameter changes for optimal patient lens fit.
• Advise ECPs on MSA product lens designs as parameters are adjusted.
• Recommend the best MSA product and design to meet practitioner and patient needs within the MSA product line.
• Direct ECPs to clinical training materials (photos, videos, manuals, forms, etc.).
• Collaborate with Clinical Consultants, Senior Clinical Consultant, Sales, and Customer Service.
• Balance time between outbound and inbound calling for consultation, clinical services, and cross-training within the department.
• Identify new prospective clients through phone, email, or booth interaction and forward leads to Senior Education Consultant or Sales Team members.
• Attend lab seminars, conventions, and other practitioner meetings to represent the company.
• Maintain documentation for lens design, initial orders, and ECP lens parameter adjustments.
• Understand RA/QA processes related to customer complaints and FDA reporting requirements for incidents.
• Present case studies during team meetings for personal and team development.
• Perform position effectively in a home office environment.

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in contact lens fitting, consulting, or design (preferred).
• Licensed fitting optician and/or NCLE certified (preferred); must obtain professional licensure and/or NCLE certification within 2 years of hire.
• Good knowledge of computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and TEAMS.
• Ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics or other future technologies necessary for the role.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities in a busy phone environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a pleasant phone and personal demeanor.
• Flexibility to travel within the Americas, not to exceed 10% (5 weeks per year).
• Functional internet and a quiet, private workspace to discuss patient-sensitive data.

Work Environment

This is a remote, work-from-home role. The position is largely sedentary, requiring the employee to sit for long periods. Standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, and printer is routinely used.

Pay

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $66,117 and $88,156 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
