Clinical Care Reviewer (County Care Management Manager, Local Government) - Fayette County MH/ID

Description of Work

This position assesses consumer needs by telephone, explains key behavioral health care information, provides authorization and appropriate referrals, and participates in team support and development activities.

• Conduct Telephonic Assessments: Gather demographic and clinical information necessary to make emergency, urgent, and routine referrals for mental health and substance abuse services
• Share Information: Provide consumers with information regarding benefits, treatment options, the managed care system, and community resources
• Determine Care Needs: Review and evaluate the medical appropriateness of psychiatric and behavioral health and substance abuse cases and, in consultation with supervisor, render a certification decision
• Serve as an Advocate: Support and promote the interests of consumers and families; facilitate coordination of care with other care managers; and conduct follow-up with consumers and service providers
• Ensure Quality and Credentials: Participate in customer service assessment activities to assure quality; participate in clinical rounds, seminars, and training sessions to maintain licensure and clinical credentials
• Complete Documentation: Maintain accurate data, referrals, and case documentation in the automated system and client records, in accordance with program standards; prepare required reports as mandated by federal, state or county policies and procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional mental health clinical experience and possession of an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; orA master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or counseling and two years of professional mental health clinical experience.
