About the role
The University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCF-COM) is seeking a full-time Cardiology physician clinician educator in the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate will be a non-invasive cardiologist with primary roles for both outpatient cardiology patient clinic care and medical student instruction.
Responsibilities
- Primary roles include evaluation and management clinic patient care and performing non-invasive cardiology procedures such as echocardiograms, nuclear medicine studies, cardiac stress tests, electrocardiograms, and arrhythmia monitoring.
- Teaching responsibilities involve instructing medical students in the cardiovascular curriculum, including the cardiopulmonary pre-clinical course module, formal lectures, small and large group sessions, and the use of simulation technology.
- Collaborative roles may include working with other cardiologists at nearby partner institutions, conducting clinical or translational research, and serving as a formal medical student advisor or mentor.
- Service responsibilities include contributing to clinical, foundational, and systems sciences instruction within the College of Medicine and the broader Academic Health Sciences Center.
Requirements
- M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school.
- Eligible for licensure or actively licensed to practice in the state of Florida.
- Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology.
- Three (3) years of post-training clinical experience preferred.
- Experience with diverse teaching methodologies preferred.
- Previous publications in cardiology and/or medical education literature preferred.
- Experience with the POTS, indeterminate sinus tachycardia, and dysautonomia-related syndromes is preferred.
Qualifications
- Commensurate with the faculty rank for which the application is submitted.
- Strong scholarly background and experience.
- Passion for teaching and contribution to clinical, foundational, and systems sciences instruction.
- Ability to contribute to clinical, foundational, and systems sciences instruction.
Skills
- Expertise in cardiology applications of AI.
- Experience or expertise in developing and implementing Cardiology curricula at the UME level.
- Experience with aerospace travel and microgravity on the cardiovascular system.
- Experience with microvascular and endovascular imaging.
