About the role
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position for the Speech-Language Pathology program.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical services (assessments, interventions, and care partner training) to patients experiencing cognitive decline, dementia, and related neurogenic communication disorders.
- Supervise and mentor graduate student clinicians during clinical practicum sessions.
- Provide clinically relevant teaching and instruction to graduate students in a clinical environment.
- Participate in professional development to maintain clinical licensure and expertise.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Evidence of at least three years of clinical practice, with a specific focus on adult/geriatric neurogenics and cognitive-communication disorders.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with graduate student clinicians.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and Texas licensure (or eligibility).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent and consistent experience supervising graduate student clinicians in direct clinical service within the last three years.
- At least 8 years of recent, direct speech-language pathology service provision to adult and geriatric populations with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), dementia, or other neurodegenerative conditions.
- Experience delivering care partner/caregiver training and implementing evidence-based cognitive-communication interventions.

Pay
