About the role

The TTUHSC Department of Psychiatry seeks an experienced forensic psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the legal system while providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic psychiatric assessments for competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, risk assessments, and other legal matters.
• Prepare detailed forensic reports for courts, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Provide expert testimony in court, depositions, and other legal settings as required.
• Collaborate with legal professionals, including attorneys, judges, and law enforcement officers, to provide insights and recommendations on psychiatric issues in legal cases.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent.
• Completion of the USMLE Step 3.
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, a residency in psychiatry.
• Completion of, or in the process of completing, a fellowship in Forensic psychiatry OR Experience in Forensic Psychiatry.
• ABMS Board Eligibility, or in the process of completing training to become board eligible, in Psychiatry.

Qualifications
