Job Summary
The Department of Medical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) invites applications for a Clinical Track, full-time, renewable Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor position within the Emergency and Critical Care Section of the UW Veterinary Care Hospital.
Key Job Responsibilities
45% Clinical coverage and teaching
Training and supervision of residents and interns
Clinical teaching of 4th year veterinary students20% Non-clinical teaching
Didactic teaching
Laboratory course teaching25% Research
Contribute and participate in clinical research in the ECC section10% Service
Involvement in committees at the department, school, university, and professional organization levels
Participation in continuing education programs for veterinary practitioners in Wisconsin
Required Qualifications
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC or ECVECC) by start date
- Eligible to obtain and maintain licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Wisconsin by start date
- Academic experience or relevant practice experience beyond residency training and DVM (or equivalent) degree preferred but not mandatory
- Aptitude or experience in clinical instruction of DVM students, interns, and residents
