About the Role
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine will be in the Department of Emergency Medicine at OSU COM. This position is actively involved in leadership and teaching of Emergency Medicine students. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research, service, and scholarly activity will also be necessary, as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position will work with existing Emergency Medicine faculty.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and teaching of Emergency Medicine students
- Engagement in clinical research, service, and scholarly activity
- Maintenance of a clinical record sufficient for faculty appointment
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy or Medical Doctor) with degree conferred on or before the agreed-upon start date
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma
- Board certification by the AOA or ABMS
- Appropriate staff privileges at OSU Medical Center, Northeastern Health System, Jack Montgomery VA Medical Center, Cleveland Area Hospital, and Claremore Indian Hospital
Skills
- Knowledge of all areas related to the clinical practice of Emergency Medicine
- Strong analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
- Practice management experience
- Proficiency in electronic medical records
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with faculty, resident physicians, medical students, patients, and providers
