Essential Functions

  • Escorts the patient to the Clinical Support area.
  • Takes height and weight.
  • Verifies visit reason.
  • Checks immunization record and update as needed.
  • Inquires about medications, allergies, and smoking status at each visit.
  • Takes BP, temperature, pulse, respiration, head and chest measurement pertinent to exam.
  • Prepares room as needed for specified visit type.
  • Auxiliaries with laceration and setup surgical tray.
  • Auxiliaries with excision of moles or lesions.
  • Give specimen to lab for send out.
  • Administers injection, SQ, IM, and ID.
  • Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems, documents and routes calls.
  • Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved.
  • Calls patient with normal lab results, or normal results that have been reviewed by the physician with specific instructions by provider.
  • Checks provider’s out box and review all papers in the box to ensure they are initialed by the provider prior to going to medical records for scanning.
  • Fully participate and contribute to the patient centered health care home.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

    Education And Experience Requirements

    • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
    • Medical Assistant, LPN or CNA preferred.
    • 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

    • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.).
    • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
    • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
    • Prioritize workload effectively.
    • Communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions.
    • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
