Essential Functions
- Escorts the patient to the Clinical Support area.
- Takes height and weight.
- Verifies visit reason.
- Checks immunization record and update as needed.
- Inquires about medications, allergies, and smoking status at each visit.
- Takes BP, temperature, pulse, respiration, head and chest measurement pertinent to exam.
- Prepares room as needed for specified visit type.
- Auxiliaries with laceration and setup surgical tray.
- Auxiliaries with excision of moles or lesions.
- Give specimen to lab for send out.
- Administers injection, SQ, IM, and ID.
- Retrieves calls regarding patient health problems, documents and routes calls.
- Calls in new prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy after provider has reviewed and approved.
- Calls patient with normal lab results, or normal results that have been reviewed by the physician with specific instructions by provider.
- Checks provider’s out box and review all papers in the box to ensure they are initialed by the provider prior to going to medical records for scanning.
- Fully participate and contribute to the patient centered health care home.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant, LPN or CNA preferred.
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
