What’s a Clinical Assistant?
A Clinical Assistant is a vital, hands-on member of the care team who works directly with patients and providers in clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. This is the fastest, most respected way to gain paid, patient-facing clinical experience before medical, nursing, or PA school.
What You’ll Do
- Work with doctors to room patients
- Assist with procedure setup
- Perform point-of care testing, take vitals, phlebotomy services
- Manage patient flow, and support everything from check-in to discharge
- Monitor pending labs and radiology orders for results to help guide patient care
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent
- Provide referral orders
- Facilitate transition of care to urgent care or hospital
- Provide other duties as needed

Schedule Options
- Part-time (2–3 shifts per week)
- Full-time (3–4 shifts per week)
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Proof of vaccinations (may be required)
- Fully fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability
- Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for several hours a day
- Access to a laptop (you’ll be provided one after training but need your own for training)
