Clinical Assistant
About the role
A Clinical Assistant is a vital, hands-on member of the care team who works directly with patients and providers in clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. This role offers valuable, patient-facing clinical experience before medical, nursing, or PA school.
Responsibilities
- Work with doctors to room patients
- Assist with procedure setup
- Perform point-of-care testing, take vitals, and phlebotomy services
- Manage patient flow, and support everything from check-in to discharge
- Monitor pending labs and radiology orders for results to help guide patient care
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent
- Provide referral orders
- Facilitate transition of care to urgent care or hospital
- Learn how to open and close the facilities, including cleaning the facility at end of shift
- Provide other duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Proof of vaccinations (may be required)
- Fully fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability
- Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for several hours a day
- Access to a laptop (you’ll be provided one after training but need your own for training)

Pay
Compensation range: $16.00, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
Schedule
Shifts are usually 8 hours but can vary depending on site needs. Schedule options include:
- Monday - Sunday
- 7:00AM - 8:00PM
Where You’ll Work
You could work in various healthcare settings such as doctor’s offices, emergency departments, and clinics across over 80 specialties nationwide. You may be called before or during work to travel between facilities in order to balance staffing (this time is paid).
