Clinical Assistant
About the role
IVI RMA North America is looking for a Clinical Assistant for our Center City, PA location. This is a full-time role working 6:45am-3:30pm. The Clinical Assistant will promote and restore patients’ health by assisting in the nursing process and supporting physicians and other multidisciplinary team members with hands-on patient care. You will help to create a positive experience for our patients and ensure that patients receive high-quality service by assisting clinical team with patient care.
Essential functions and accountabilities
- Assist Physicians with clinical procedures
- Follow proper protocols for all procedures
- Practice phlebotomy
- Accurately document ultrasound measurements, provider comments and use appropriate stim templates while chaperoning ultrasounds
- Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol
- Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms
- Maintain clinical supplies inventory
- Specimen collection, processing for in-house and outside laboratories
- Manage Lanfax for outside labs, reports, results
- Enter results and email to provider team for review
- Provide patients with information regarding upcoming procedures and reassurance/comfort before, during and after procedures
Academic training
- Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program – preferred (Certification, Nursing/healthcare assistant)
- Phlebotomy Program – preferred (Certification, Phlebotomy Program)
Position requirements/experience
- 6+ months experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice
- Prior experience in women’s healthcare – preferred
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
- Technical Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel – required
- EMR experience - preferred
