What’s a Clinical Assistant?
A Clinical Assistant is a vital, hands-on member of the care team who works directly with patients and providers in clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. This role offers real-life clinical experience before medical, nursing, or PA school, allowing you to log hundreds of hours of direct patient contact and build strong letters of recommendation from physicians and nurses.
What You’ll Do
- Work with doctors to room patients
- Absorb and perform procedure setup
- Perform point-of-care testing, take vitals, and phlebotomy services
- Manage patient flow, from check-in to discharge
- Monitor pending labs and radiology orders for results
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent
- Facilitate the transition of care to urgent care or hospital
- Perform other duties as needed

Where You’ll Work
As an on-site Clinical Assistant, you could work in various healthcare settings, including outpatient doctor’s offices and emergency departments. We match you to the best fit based on your schedule, interests, and location.
What You’ll Need
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Proof of vaccinations (may be required)
- A typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong listening and communication skills
- A flexible schedule
- Access to a laptop (provided after training but need your own for training)
