About the role

We're looking for a Clinic Supervisor to lead and supervise the daily operations of all personnel and processes within the department’s appointment desks. You'll oversee staffing and staff development/training, implement policies and procedures, and lead your team to improve processes, maximize efficiency, and maintain high morale and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with clinical colleagues, physicians, and coordinators to continually assess and improve operational procedures of the unit.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops department staff.
  • Monitors and measures the performance of the operational unit as a team and individual performance of team members using available performance management information.
  • Ensures appropriate internal controls, backups, and policy guidelines are communicated to department leaders to minimize risks associated with new processes.
  • Develops unit-specific systems to emphasize patient courtesy and responsive service delivery.
  • Serves and resolves patient complaints and requests for service immediately and courteously.
  • Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations, and communicating effectively.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of related healthcare/clinical experience with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent judgment and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong delegation skills.
  • Flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call availability).

Qualifications

  • Compliance with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Knowledge of Ochsner's Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediate reporting of unethical or questionable behaviors.
