About the role
Performs both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations, under minimal supervision. Actual job duties may vary by Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
- Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
- Assist callers with routine inquiries and schedule appointments.
- Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical record/LMR.
- Act as "Super User" for scheduling, registration, and billing systems; provide assistance and training to others in these areas.
- Perform more complex or specialized functions (e.g., surgical scheduling, schedule changes/blocking) at an advanced competency level.
- Provide functional guidance to Office and Practice Assistants.
- Oversee daily activities of practice staff in conjunction with Supervisor.
- Accept co-payments as required.
- Handle, screen, and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required (experience cannot substitute for degree).
- 3-5 years of office experience.
Skills
- Strong technology and MS Office skills (Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of office operations, standards, and procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Ability to use phone systems and manage non-routine phone calls, solving routine issues as appropriate.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including composing/editing emails, memos, and letters.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to proofread and edit written documents.

Pay
$17.71 - $24.94/Hourly (Grade 3)
