Responsibilities

• Administers administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider.
• Performs clinical duties including measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies.
• Administers medications as ordered by the physician.
• Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.

Requirements

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Required effective 9/1/20: Graduated from or completed a formal MA training program that includes pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and a clinical externship.
• Preferred: Previous experience in direct contact with people and previous experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Required: Certification or registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program (CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP).
• Required: Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program.
• Required: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri.
• PREFERRED: IV certification in State of Missouri.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
• Proficient Computer skills.
