Clinic Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming experience for all patients entering the building.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in alignment with HIPAA regulations.
  • Register new patients and assist them in completing registration forms.
  • Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into organization’s EHR.
  • Verify insurance and provide information regarding MCC’s discount program.
  • Collect, record payments and discuss financial arrangements with patients.
  • Schedule appointments using MCC’s scheduling protocols.
  • Act as a liaison for the patients and the organization by directing calls appropriately and using sound judgement in handling calls, especially with upset patients.
  • Understand and implement basic de-escalation techniques.
  • Understand when to escalate interactions to a supervisor.
  • Answer phones, screen patients, and respond to phone messages.
  • Make outbound calls to reschedule appointments, respond to provider, clinical staff requests to call patients.
  • Maintains reception and front desk areas to ensure they are clean, presentable, and inviting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General office skills required, including how to use typical office equipment, such as telephones, computers, fax machines and scanners.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English or other fluencies preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service or health care setting preferred.
  • Experience in EMR or data entry preferred.

  • The ability to collaborate and work cooperatively with others.
  • The ability to respond in a professional and timely manner to requests.
  • The ability to respond professionally to stressful situations, and deescalate when necessary.
