Overview
Baton Rouge Physical Therapy is seeking an organized, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Office Manager / Care Coordinator to lead daily front office operations and help create an exceptional experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, referrals, and workflow coordination
- Providing excellent customer service to patients in person, by phone, and via email
- Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining required authorizations
- Collecting co-pays and co-insurance and following up on outstanding patient balances as needed
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in the EMR system
- Supervising and supporting front office team members and assisting with training
- Coordination with clinic leadership and the Billing team regarding collections, reporting, and front office operations
- Maintaining an organized, professional front office environment
- Monitoring and managing clinic supply inventory
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Performing other duties as assigned and pitching in wherever needed to support our patients and team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of front office experience in a physical therapy or medical office
- Experience with medical insurance verification and authorizations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy healthcare environment
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, follow directions, and use sound judgment
- Ability to build positive relationships with patients, providers, and coworkers
