The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is growing rapidly and is seeking new members on our Centralized Operations team. The Centralized Operations team is responsible for servicing existing Hedge Fund clients and assisting with the conversion and implementation of future business.

About the role

The Client Service Specialist (Account Manager) is responsible for all aspects of the relationship including supporting SEI’s proprietary workflow system, the portfolio accounting system (Geneva), and supplemental systems/technology. This individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable explaining processes both over the phone and in face-to-face meetings with clients. Ideally, the candidate would be proficient with Microsoft Excel & Access and be comfortable working/manipulating data. The candidate is also required to have a thorough understanding of processes and procedures of a Hedge Fund's Operations and be able to discuss our service offering in detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as main daily client contact.
  • Cultivate and maintain close relationships with clients through proactive measures and written/verbal communication.
  • Coordinate internal SEI resources on behalf of client (COPS, Recon, Accounting, Technology, etc.).
  • Identify, resolve, and/or escalate critical issues.
  • Serve as representative for each client with the various third-party vendors used by the teams.
  • Coordinate all new business setups.
  • Develop/document processes and controls for enhancements to our Alternative Fund Administration offering.
  • Manage client and internal expectations for ad hoc requests.
  • Take a consultative approach with client project requests and recommend best practices, prioritize, scope, and implement when necessary custom specifications.
  • Work with the team to continually define our service offering and manage client expectations.
  • Work with various file and data formats.
  • Some travel required (10-15%).
  • Attend and participate in various IMS and corporate professional development sessions to acquire tools to identify processes across the division and organization.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or the equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3.5 years related work experience in operations role supporting Alternative Investments.
  • Supervisory experience in Alt Operations.
  • Knowledge of financial and investment management account services.
  • Experience with Advent Geneva.
  • Experience with workflow tools a plus.
  • Strong dedication to quality customer service.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with external clients a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/team player.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assist in the analysis, development, and documentation of procedures and controls for the new unit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Regular and reliable attendance in accordance with position, business, and/or client need.
