About the role

Contributes to the provision of basic bank deposit services while promoting a positive Riverview image through friendly and efficient processing of customer transactions. Develops skills to generate deposit growth by learning how to effectively sell and cross-sell Riverview products and services.

This is a part-time position with a starting rate of $19 - $21.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and use problem-solving skills to satisfy customer needs (in person and/or via telephone).
  • Perform computer data entry and inquiry.
  • Process, record, track, and verify various types of financial transactions, information, and events.
  • Prepare and/or complete various reports and forms accurately.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  • Sell and cross-sell Riverview products and services.
  • Open new accounts.
  • Follow branch procedures and comply with regulatory, state, and federal laws.
  • Follow all security procedures.
  • Participate in and complete training objectives with passing scores.
  • Follow all Riverview policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Relationships

  • Daily contact with supervisor to receive direction and interpretation of existing and new branch procedures.
  • Daily contact with customers and prospective customers to fulfill their banking needs.
  • Frequent coordination with other departments to provide assistance and operational support.
  • Occasional contact with professionals such as attorneys, accountants, and financial intermediaries for consultation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months of cash handling and/or customer service experience.

Skills

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to promote and sell products and services through verbal recommendations.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with business office equipment.
  • Flexibility in a changing work environment.
  • High attention to detail.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively via phone, video, messaging, and email.
  • Frequent use of computer and office equipment such as printers, copiers, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to occupy a workstation for extended periods.
