Client Care Specialist- Full Time (3rd Shift Shift Differential)

Join the Rescue Mission Team as a Client Care Specialist in our Syracuse Emergency Shelter.

About the role

The Client Care Specialist maintains a safe and supportive environment for clients, utilizing the resources of the Rescue Mission to ensure a healthy and pleasant stay and provide an environment of positive change.

• Develops rapport with clients and provides support, encouragement, and motivation towards building and/or maintaining independence while maintaining appropriate professional employee-client boundaries.
• Participates as a team player to provide the best possible care for every client who enters Rescue Mission facilities by completing rounds, monitoring facilities, facilitating drug and breathalyzer tests, giving out personal care items and bedding, enforcing guidelines as appropriate, and referring clients to appropriate internal services.
• Treats clients with respect and dignity.
• Shares pertinent client information via documentation, participation in meetings, and on an individual basis as needed, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
• Completes trainings within 30 days of assignment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in human services or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience working with homeless, addicted, and/or mentally ill clients desired.
• Must follow CDC guidance including wearing a mask when working.
• Full vaccination and boosted (when eligible) against Covid-19 is strongly encouraged.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $18.50 per hour. Additional $2.00 per hour for 3rd shift differential (9:00pm–7:30am).

Schedule

Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9:00pm–7:30am.
