Client Advisor
Position Overview
Clark Dietz, Inc., a 100% employee-owned ENR Top 500 Design Firm with offices across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin, is seeking a Client Advisor to support its Illinois Region with business development in the Chicagoland area.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads outreach initiatives to identify, engage, and promote the firm’s engineering services to potential clients in the region.
- Conducts market research to uncover new business opportunities, including information on future projects, procurement cycles, funding sources, and decision-making processes.
- Supports the Regional Director and EVP of Business Development in executing regional business development strategies and initiatives in close coordination with area managers, team leaders, and technical staff.
- Captures and updates CRM systems, client lists, pursuit pipelines, and marketing intelligence to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborates with technical staff to gather project information, resumes, and technical content for proposals and presentations.
- Prepares presentation materials, briefing documents, and talking points for client meetings, interviews, and conferences.
- Supports development and execution of client service plans for key clients and markets.
- Tracks pursuit performance, win rates, and client engagement metrics, and assists with reporting to regional leadership.
- Coordinates with marketing staff on branding, messaging, and consistency across proposals and client-facing materials.
- Represents Clark Dietz professionally in client meetings, industry events, and networking activities as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of regional growth and client success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in professional services, business development, client services, marketing, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting business development efforts, proposals, or client relationship management. Direct experience with municipal and county governments is strongly desired.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare polished client-facing materials.
- Proficiency with MS Office is required. Experience with CRM systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, technical staff, and external clients.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the region on a frequent basis.
Pay & Benefits
Starting salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 + hiring bonus + annual performance bonus.
