About the role
Perform moderately complex office/clerical tasks in support of the assigned campus/department under general supervision while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Perform required office routines according to standard practices while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Review, refer and answer routine correspondence, telephone and electronic messages; greet public and route requests for information.
- Establish and maintain manual and automated record filing systems for campus or department as assigned.
- Process and enter data into computer or report format; operate basic office machines to include computers, fax machine, copying machine, etc.
- Accountable for functional responsibility for an assigned section of work in the department; plan and arrange own work; refer problems that cannot be solved to supervisor.
- Communicate transactions and facilitate transitions to appropriate personnel.
- Research reports and requests for information; extract information and supporting data to assist administrator.
- Accommodate the needs of students, parents, teachers, staff and/or the general public as appropriate to assist administration in providing information and services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Three (3) years of general clerical/secretarial experience OR eighteen (18) semester hours from an accredited college/university may be substituted for each year of experience
- Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing, file maintenance, personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, electronic mail and internet
- Must be able to communicate, listen, read, write, and comprehend the English language sufficiently to use it easily and readily in daily communication
- Possess required skills and knowledge as assessed by the Ysleta ISD Paraprofessional Test
