Overview
Under general supervision, this role involves advanced general clerical work and minor supervisory duties. Employees handle complex clerical tasks, solve problems with critical deviations from standard procedures, and review work issues with a supervisor. This is the highest class in the Clerk sub-series.
Responsibilities
- Conduct office functions: taking messages, answering telephones, inputting time sheets, filing, reviewing and distributing mail, maintaining contracts, creating documents/forms, ordering supplies.
- Maintain, compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information/data for accuracy and completeness.
- Document and record information by entering, transcribing, storing, or maintaining data in written or electronic format.
- Explain departmental policies and procedures, interpret rules/regulations to internal and external customers for consistency.
- Analyze information from verbal, written, or electronic communication to evaluate solutions and solve problems.
- Communicate with the public, government, and external sources to represent the organization and provide customer service (in person, writing, telephone, or email).
- Schedule appointments, meetings, events, programs, activities, and travel arrangements for the unit/division.
- Develop goals by planning, prioritizing, and organizing work to meet performance standards in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
- Two years of increasingly responsible full-time clerical work.
- Qualifying clerical experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record (no DUI, reckless driving, license suspensions for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations in the past five years).

Pay
Monthly: $2,581.00 – $3,870.00
Annual: $30,972.00 – $46,440.00
