About the role
The Clerical Assistant I position provides essential administrative and customer service support for Indian River State College's Selection Center operations. Serving as a key point of contact, you will assist with scheduling, testing administration, fingerprinting services, records management, inventory control, and general office operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide general clerical assistance to the Selection Center Staff
- Greet clients and provide services according to client needs
- Offer information about Selection Center services to employees, students, and community members
- Answer telephones and purchase NFSI and Integrity Tests from vendors
- Administer the Integrity Inventory test and provide results to the Selection Center Coordinator
- Administer Pearson Vue tests and provide results to candidates
- Maintain and update the Selection Center website and policies
- Manage tasks related to the outer office, including scheduling appointments, filing forms, and completing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution or three (3) years of directly related clerical office experience
- Proven work experience in all clerical duties including telephone etiquette
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks with careful attention to detail
- Ability to work with records in a timely, efficient, and confidential manner
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat based applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to the needs of College personnel, students, and the general public
- Active Florida Notary Public preferred
