About the role
Provide direct support for participants taking recreational classes through the Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Skills Center. Participants are 18 and older and may have Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, including Autism.
Responsibilities
- Manage participants before and after classes
- Support adult participants in small groups or individually with tasks and classes
- Help prepare and clean classrooms
- Collaborate with staff including Operations Lead, Program Manager, Instructors, and other Classroom Assistants
- Oversight of participants in classes and community-based outings, adhering to staffing ratios
- Develop rapport with participants and engage them in tasks and classes
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting
- Experience working with multi-system involved adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental disabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology preferred
- WA State Drivers License required

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and resources available
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
