Pay & Schedule Starting Pay: $33.30 per hour (90% of top scale)Top Scale: $37.00 per hour after successful completion of 90 daysSchedule: Monday through Friday; daily start times vary between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM based on route assignments.Occasional Saturdays as neededAverage of approximately 45 hours per weekUnion wages and benefits under the applicable collective bargaining agreement What You'll Do As a Class B Front Load Driver, you will safely operate a front-load garbage truck while providing dependable waste and recycling collection services to commercial customers throughout the Frederickson area. Essential Job Duties Safely operate a Class B front-load refuse truck on assigned commercial routes in varying traffic and weather conditionsService customers according to route schedules and dispatch instructions while maintaining productivity and efficiencyComplete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspectionsPerform basic vehicle maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and safety equipmentOperate hydraulic systems to lift, dump, and empty commercial refuse containersWork independently to complete routes safely and efficientlyFrequently enter and exit the vehicle throughout the workdayManeuver and service heavy, overloaded, or difficult-to-position containersProvide professional and courteous customer serviceComply with all company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and DOT regulationsAssist with additional duties as assigned to support daily operations Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. You Must Be Able To Lift, push, pull, and maneuver materials weighing 50 pounds or moreRepeatedly climb in and out of the truck throughout the shiftWalk and work on uneven surfacesSit, drive, and operate equipment for extended periodsWork in rain, heat, cold, humidity, dust, noise, and other outdoor environmental conditionsSafely work around moving vehicles, heavy equipment, and mechanical componentsFollow all safety procedures in a safety-sensitive environment Qualifications Required Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsementMinimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience or closely related experienceAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to safely perform all essential job functionsSuccessful completion of pre-employment requirementsSAFETY SENSITIVE: YES Preferred High school diploma or GEDBasic mechanical aptitude and vehicle inspection experience Why Join Waste Connections?
