Class B Front Load Truck Driver

About the role

Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks to pick up waste or recyclable material and transport it to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The position may require multiple trips per shift and involves both manual and automatic trucks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for waste or recyclable material pick-up.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making one or more trips per shift.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
• Navigate congested communities and confined or tight areas, including highly skilled backing maneuvers.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and move or maneuver up to 100 pounds.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times per route.
• Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Ensure the truck is in compliance with safety standards and regulations prior to and during operation.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position, including lifting and maneuvering heavy objects.
• Willing and able to work required hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as allowed under DOT regulations.

Pay

Hourly pay ranges from $28.00 to $36.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. Early start times (1 AM or 3 AM). No overnights.
