Class B Front Load Driver

Interstate Waste Services is a progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services, serving Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and recently expanded into Pennsylvania and Ohio, where it owns and operates a state‑of‑the‑art rail‑served landfill. Responsibilities

• Safely operate front‑load garbage trucks.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making one or more trips per shift.
• Work with both manual and automatic trucks.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 lb and move/maneuver up to 100 lb as required.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times on each route.

Requirements

• 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement.
• At least 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work the required hours as allowed under DOT regulations, which may include weekend, night, and/or holiday work.

Skills

• Highly skilled backing maneuvers essential for navigating congested communities and confined or tight urban areas.
• Ability to climb in and out of the truck cab frequently to service customer accounts.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and ensure the truck complies with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.

Pay

$26.35 per hour (minimum and maximum salary range).

Schedule

• Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours.
• Early start time – 4 a.m.
• May require weekend, night, and/or holiday work as permitted by DOT regulations.
