About the role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition. They also serve as the face of our company, building lasting relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, overnight, and routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and timely.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, including logs for hours of service.
• Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy; verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures.
• Collect payments (cash or checks) where required; load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
• Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and perform general housekeeping duties.
• Secure all equipment and complete end-of-shift paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A license.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
• Attain or hold a valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.

Pay

$75,000 - $85,000 per year

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, dispatch between 4:00 AM–6:00 AM.
• 1 overnight per week.
