About the role

Food and food service delivery Drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, while also serving as the face of our company—building lasting relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a tractor trailer on intrastate and interstate routes (local, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop) to deliver and unload food and food-related products safely and on time, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and coworkers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks, including inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations and company safety standards; report safety issues or required repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; report safety hazards immediately.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; verify counts and customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Deliver customer orders according to predetermined schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and follow company policy for removing orders.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain proper signatures; collect payments (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked or secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns at driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and maintain cleanliness of tractor, loading dock, and trailers.
  • Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries per federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Hold or be able to secure a valid current DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and stack product cases/freight weighing between 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Pay

First-year wages between $68,000–$72,000 (includes hourly base pay, additional compensation, and overtime). Annual merit increases.

Schedule

  • 4-day work week (Tuesday–Friday).
  • 4:00 AM start time.
  • 3-day weekends (home daily).
