Class A Commercial Truck Driver

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and organized Class A Commercial Truck Driver with strong physical and mental stamina. The role involves daily travel, longer hours as needed, and the safe, accurate delivery of modular homes. Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient, and possess a clean driving record, along with excellent communication skills to coordinate deliveries as part of the Ritz-Transportation team.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs and pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
• Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit.
• Secure units properly to the frames.
• Safely and efficiently park units at jobsites or dealer lots.
• Follow predetermined routes to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate with dispatch as needed.
• Complete and comply with Electronic Logging Devices and regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and unit inspections.
• Contact the Delivery Person at departure and one hour prior to delivery.
• Maintain a clean truck, inside and out.
• Report any truck issues to the garage immediately.
• Be available for trips during daylight hours.
• Notify managers of any major delivery issues.
• Follow delivery schedules and rest at appropriate times.
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery paperwork.
• Hire pilot cars as needed for moves.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Obey all traffic laws and adjust driving to weather/road conditions.
• Comply with ICC and DOT regulations.
• Prioritize safety at all times.
• Maneuver and park a tractor-trailer comfortably.
• Take photos of transport delays and all sides of the unit before unhooking at delivery.
• Upload photos and maintain communication via the company app.

Requirements

• Valid Class A driver’s license.
• 1+ year of CDL driving experience preferred.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check, drug test, and random drug screenings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs at a time.
• High level of composure and strong stress management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
