Responsibilities
- Investigate complex and high-risk claims which may have some litigation features
- Consult with police officers, medical professionals, claimants and others involved in the accident
- Use gathered information to determine coverage, liability and the total value of the claim
- Report to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration
- Work in the office more than four days per month if preferred
Requirements
- Six years of relevant work experience with three years in claims handling OR
- Three years in claims handling and a bachelor’s degree OR
- Five years of relevant work experience with three years in claims handling and an associate degree
Preferred Skills
- Ability to quickly build rapport and successfully effect settlements
- Strong negotiation and customer service skills
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills along with ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Knowledge of the rules of civil procedures in terms of filing/answering suit, discovery deadlines, and venue
- Ability to direct the use of discovery tools such as interrogatories, depositions and production of documents
- Three years of Casualty and Litigation claims handling experience
Pay
- Anchorage, AK: $88,000 - $115,000 / year
- Honolulu, HI: $81,000 - $105,000/year
