Claims Representative
Job Summary
Responsible for taking first report calls of accidents from drivers, assigning adjusters as needed, inputting the information into the computer system, notifying third-party administrators of accidents and performing required follow-up on all these functions. Management, analysis and processing of—and reporting on—insurance and self-insurance programs and claims.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Take first reports of accidents and Enter accident information into computer
- Obtain and file copies of police reports, photos and other accident-related documents
- Follow up on missing documentation regarding the accident
- Execute the investigation for root cause analysis and evaluate liability exposure
- Set up third-party field adjusters as needed on more serious claims to get to the scene for documentation to preserve evidence
- Communicate accident notices to internal clients
- Audit each incident report for accuracy and completeness before escalating the claim status
- Coincide information with the company's insurers and/or third-party administrator
- Commence claims adjudication as directed by supervisor
- Obtain records timely for evidence preservation in anticipation of litigation
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of previous insurance/claims experience

Pay
This pay scale represents a good faith estimate of the hourly range the company reasonably expects to pay upon hire for this position: $23 – $25 per hour. A final offer amount will depend on factors such as prior relevant experience, skills, and location.
