Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation Team Lead | Jurisdiction: CA or NV | Licensing: required

Responsibilities
- Supervise the operation of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for workers compensation for clients
- Monitor colleagues' workloads, provide training, and monitor individual claim activities
- Provide technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication
- Maintain a diary on claims in the teams including frequent diaries on complex or high exposure claims
- Analyze and process complex or technically difficult general liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim; manage claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution
- Manage the litigation process; ensure timely and cost-effective claims resolution
- Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management
- Lead team meetings and assign accountability for follow-up items
- Gather important compliance/claims processing information to be presented at team meetings
- Assist in interviews of adjusters, clerical staff and provide feedback to hiring manager
- Provide limited assistance/support to team lead with monthly review of adjuster workloads; note trends and suggest adjustments when necessary
- May include up to (3) three direct reports
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Administer company personnel policies in all areas and follow company staffing standards and training recommendations
- Interview, hire and establish colleague performance development plans; conduct colleague performance discussions
- Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance
Qualifications
- 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred
- Jurisdiction Knowledge/Licensing: CA or NV licensing required

Pay
For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000–$115,000. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
