Role Overview/Position Summary
Claim Analyst 1 reviews unclaimed property claims to determine approval, denial, or further action. Key duties include verifying claim authenticity, gathering necessary documentation, and advising claimants.
Responsibilities
- Determine claim documentation requirements and verify authenticity of documents
- Identify potential fraud using fraud training and databases like Accurint/IDI Core
- Verify claim validity and ownership
- Elicit missing information from claimants
- Review claims for discrepancies and approve/deny based on law and policy
- Collaborate with supervisors on complex claims
- Create detailed records in the Unclaimed Property database
- Communicate with claimants via various means
- Assist with event representation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred or equivalent job-related experience
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Critical eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to explain complex concepts simply
- Analytical skills and self-motivation
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
Qualifications
- Fluency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Indiana Unclaimed Property statute and reporting requirements
- Experience with Accurint/IDI Core and other databases
- Understanding of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Experience working in a team environment
