About the role

The senior claims specialist plays a critical role in resolving injury claims. They investigate complex and high-risk claims, consulting with various parties including police officers, medical professionals, and claimants.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex and high-risk claims
• Consult with police officers, medical professionals, claimants and others involved in the accident
• Determine coverage, liability and the total value of the claim
• Work in a hybrid role, reporting to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration
• May work in the office more than four days per month if preferred

Requirements

• Five years of relevant work experience with two years in claims handling
• OR Two years in claims handling and a bachelor’s degree
• OR Four years of relevant work experience with two years in claims handling and an associate degree

Preferred Skills

• Ability to quickly build rapport and successfully effect settlements
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills along with ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Demonstrated proficiency analyzing coverage and liability
• Ability to direct the use of discovery tools such as interrogatories, depositions and production of documents
• Two years Auto Injury Claims handling experience

Pay

• Anchorage, AK: $80,000 - $105,000/year
• Honolulu, HI: $74,000 - $95,000/year

Schedule

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of working in the office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration. The remaining days can be worked remotely.
