Responsibilities

The Claim Trainee Development Program at Great American Insurance Group is designed to provide comprehensive training and exposure to the claims department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing required analysis, investigation, and claim handling functions.
  • Making appropriate recommendations involving claim strategy, management, and resolution.
  • Engaging in business unit rotations across various departments to gain broad exposure.
  • Obtaining the P&C Staff Adjuster License.
  • Earning the Associate in Claims designation from The Institutes.
  • Attending Great American University and Claim College seminars and workshops.
  • Participating in Toastmasters to enhance communication and public speaking skills.
  • Participating in structured networking opportunities to connect with different business units and industry professionals.
  • Completing various reading assignments and self-study courses on insurance topics.

Requirements

To be considered for the Claim Trainee position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a 3.5 GPA preferred and a 3.0 minimum GPA for consideration.
  • Proven work track record through relevant work experience, co-ops, or internships.
  • Proven leadership through work experience, extracurricular activities, or civic involvement.
  • Strong critical, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate and MBA graduates are encouraged to apply.
