Responsibilities
The Claim Trainee Development Program at Great American Insurance Group is designed to provide comprehensive training and exposure to the claims department. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing required analysis, investigation, and claim handling functions.
- Making appropriate recommendations involving claim strategy, management, and resolution.
- Engaging in business unit rotations across various departments to gain broad exposure.
- Obtaining the P&C Staff Adjuster License.
- Earning the Associate in Claims designation from The Institutes.
- Attending Great American University and Claim College seminars and workshops.
- Participating in Toastmasters to enhance communication and public speaking skills.
- Participating in structured networking opportunities to connect with different business units and industry professionals.
- Completing various reading assignments and self-study courses on insurance topics.
Requirements
To be considered for the Claim Trainee position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, with a 3.5 GPA preferred and a 3.0 minimum GPA for consideration.
- Proven work track record through relevant work experience, co-ops, or internships.
- Proven leadership through work experience, extracurricular activities, or civic involvement.
- Strong critical, analytical, and investigative skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate and MBA graduates are encouraged to apply.
