About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of the CLA Donato Center, the Translation Program Recruiter is responsible for coordinating and executing various aspects of recruitment activities to increase applicants and student enrollment in the Translation Studies Program.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, counsels, and plans events for prospective students
• Coordinates with other CSULB departments and faculty advisors to improve recruitment efforts
• Coordinates and staffs recruitment and career fairs
• Develops effective recruitment and informational materials
• Collaborates with campus partners across advising, enrollment, and student affairs units to strengthen outreach efforts
• Represents academic programs at recruitment events, career fairs, and professional conferences
• Builds strong relationships with educational partners
• Leverages enrollment and yield data to inform recruitment strategies
• Conducts targeted outreach to students from traditionally underserved populations to support enrollment growth and student success
• Communicates with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community
• Follows all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures
• Contributes to a positive university experience for each and every student and assists in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence"

Requirements

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, public, or business administration, or a job-related field
• One year of directly related experience
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, advising, and engaging prospective students through strategic outreach initiatives and events
• Skilled in planning and coordinating recruitment campaigns for prospective students, parents, academic counselors, and advisors from regional K-12 schools and community colleges, with particular attention to language-related programs

Schedule

This is a temporary hourly/intermittent position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Pay

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources. The salary range for this classification is $25.86 to $36.59 per hour.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects (10 pounds or less).
