Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of civil/structural engineers and designers; manage project assignments and team priorities.
• Responsible for meeting department utilization targets.
• Perform structural analysis and design for industrial steel and concrete structures, buildings, equipment foundations, and miscellaneous infrastructure systems.
• Meet regularly with other Department Managers to promote collaboration and strategize on business and capability growth.
• Conduct regular team meetings to share updates, recognize achievements, and provide feedback.
• Ensure quality control is performed on projects and resolve any project quality issues promptly; present lessons learned to the organization.
• Set clear expectations for the civil/structural team on budget/change management, schedule adherence, and technical quality.
• Drive performance management, succession planning, and employee development within your team.
• Manage resources across multiple locations, including technical oversight for seconded staff.
• Oversee the interviewing and hiring process for new team members to recruit top engineering and design talent.
• Collaborate with the business development team to enhance capabilities and develop unique value propositions.
• Influence business development strategies, contribute to proposal efforts, and evolve engineering capabilities to meet client needs.
• Build relationships and interact regularly with clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
• Develop high-quality and competitively priced proposals that meet client expectations.
• Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering, with experience leading complex, multi-discipline projects.
• Current or previous experience leading engineering teams.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET accredited preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design for new building systems.
• Experience performing seismic evaluations and retrofit design.
• Experience developing structural calculations and technical reports.
• Experience coordinating engineering work with BIM/CAD design teams.
• Familiarity with building codes, seismic standards, and industry design practices.
• Ability to identify, communicate, and drive value creation through innovative engineering and design approaches.
• Ability to develop standards, procedures, protocols, project cost estimates, project schedules, and task breakdowns.
• Demonstrates awareness and commitment to health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners.
• Occasional travel to Eichleay offices and client sites across the Western US (up to 25%).

Industry Requirements

• HHFT Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
• Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
• TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain (must be obtained prior to start date).
• Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
• Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.

• Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates, including weekdays and weekends.
• Job duties will be performed at client sites, production facilities, or industrial/construction job sites.
• Conditions and/or schedule may vary; candidates must follow clients' site-based rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases.

Pay

$160,000 - $190,000 anticipated annual salary, may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal peer equity.

Schedule

This position is fully remote. Preference will be given to candidates located within 50 miles of the Eichleay Ferndale, WA or Billings, MT offices to support occasional in-person collaboration. Qualified candidates residing in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Washington are also welcome.
