About the role

The Civil Rights Response Manager oversees the response to reports of discrimination and harassment, designs and facilitates educational modules, and assists with climate concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with outreach and supportive measures to complainants and respondents.
  • Serves as liaison between various offices to facilitate informal case resolution and provide outcome communications.
  • Oversees the University’s response to complaints alleging violations of University policy, including receiving and screening complaints, maintaining confidential records, and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Supports the University’s compliance with civil rights laws by serving as an advisor to the Title VI and Civil Rights Coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree, higher education experience, legal background, at least two years of experience with Civil Rights laws and regulations, and/or thorough knowledge of the Clery Act and experience with Clery reporting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal Civil Rights laws, including Title IX, Title VI/VII, FERPA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Violence Against Women Act, Clery and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
