Civil Intern, Surface Transportation
About the role
The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager to generate design calculations and reports, discipline-specific construction plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates. They may also assist with and document construction inspection activities, research and solve problems in the field, and assure conformance to plans/specifications.
Responsibilities
- Generate design calculations and reports
- Create discipline-specific construction plans
- Create technical specifications and cost estimates
- Auxiliary work on-site with a Construction Manager
- Document construction inspection activities
- Research and solve problems in the field
- Affirm compliance with plans/specifications
Requirements
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Software proficiency - Microsoft Office
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Good interpersonal skills and capacity to learn new skills
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program
- Passing GPA requirement (if applicable)

Pay
The approximate compensation range for this position is $15- $25 per hour. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate academic requirements.
