Civil Highway Engineer (Transportation)
Duties
- Highway engineering design including development of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, pavement design, signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, work zone traffic control, and erosion and sediment control.
- Preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Field reconnaissance, data collection, and inspection.
Requirements
- An accredited B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation.
- 3-6 years of related consulting experience is a plus.
- Registration as an EIT in New York (or eligibility to obtain) and the ability to secure the New York State professional engineering license is desired.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively within a project team, including internal team members and client or agency team members.
- Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus.
- Experience with NYSDOT specifications and design a plus.
Pay
Estimated Pay Range: $80,000 - $95,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
