Civil / Highway Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in the New England area. You will be working on projects that support our clients and ensure the safety, health, and welfare of the public. Your work will contribute to the development of resilient transportation systems that enhance economic vitality, public safety, and community quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of civil engineering projects to support clients
- Prepare plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for various project sizes and complexities
- Engage in highway & local roadway design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, drainage & grading, and multi-modal transportation designs
- Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to solve complex mobility challenges
- Ensure adherence to design and safety standards and best practices
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on roadway and utility design
- Professional Engineer certification
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Attention to detail and exemplary work ethic
- Experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and Massachusetts municipalities
- Preferred experience with other New England state DOT’s
- Preferred proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation OpenRoads
- Experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- MS Office knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Hands-on experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans
